Breeding difficulty: Hard
Needs very soft, slightly acidic water and dim light; eggs are light-sensitive and parents will eat them.
Keep in groups of six or more in a planted tank with gentle flow. Drip-acclimatise new fish — neons are sensitive to swings in water chemistry. Weekly 25% water changes keep colours vivid.
